Garland of Hours

Garland of Hours formed in 2000 when Amy began developing her keyboard and cello-based songs with a rotating cast of collaborators, including Brendan Canty (Fugazi, Messthetics), Jerry Busher (Fidelity Jones, Allscars, Shadow Riot), Brandon Butler (Boys Life, Canyon), and Mary Timony (Helium, Wild Flag, Ex Hex). The project blends chamber music sensibilities with a well-honed ear for early music modality and experimental sonic textures.

“Most impressive is the way she manages to make such disparate influences coalesce into a thoroughly unique sound, blending a love of Renaissance and early classical music with folk and post-punk, and even hints of psychedelia. The effect is both modern and timeless, sometimes delicately beautiful, sometimes gut-punchingly heavy, particularly when she lets the cello growl angrily in its lower register.” Dcist
